My professional journey began in the corporate sector, where I spent 16 years in IT and Oil & Gas industries. From a young age, I felt a strong responsibility to tackle challenges on my own, a mindset that I carried into adulthood. However, as I faced various personal challenges, I realised that this self-reliance was taking a toll on my mental and physical well-being.
During a transformative career break, I sought a new path and found myself drawn to counselling. I embarked on a postgraduate degree in counselling as a means of personal development and balance. As I progressed through my studies, I was deeply moved by the transformative power of counselling, both in my own life and in the lives of others around me. This realisation not only reinforced my commitment to the field but also fuelled a genuine passion for helping others overcome their challenges. Through this educational journey, I acquired the skills and insights necessary to support individuals effectively and make a significant impact on their personal growth and well-being.
As a Wellness Coach at The Mind, I integrate Person-Centered Therapy with Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to offer a holistic approach to support. Person-Centered Therapy fosters a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts and feelings. This, combined with CBT techniques, helps clients manage negative thought patterns and develop practical coping strategies.
In my role, I conduct individual sessions, group sessions, and training programs tailored to meet diverse client needs. Individual sessions offer personalised support, group sessions create a collaborative space for shared experiences, and training programs equip clients with resilience-building skills.
My corporate background gives me a unique understanding of the pressures and challenges faced by individuals in high-stress environments. I am committed to using this insight to offer tailored support that meets each client’s specific needs.
