Since its formation, one of the things that we wanted to do at The Mind was to give back. Our team here has been blessed with many wonderful opportunities, professionally as well as personally, and due in large part to the support that we have had from those around us.
Two Ways To Give Back In This Program
We created the Nurture program with this goal in mind, to give back. And we aim to do so in two distinct ways.
Every year, the Nurture program opens up our doors to young clinicians who’re looking to hone their skills. The program is made available to final year, masters level students in Counselling or Clinical Psychology programs.
Supervised trainees by our experienced senior practitioners and trained supervisees
Young clinicians looking to join us can look forward to a supervisory experience that is focussed heavily on developing their clinical skills as well as their professional development on their journey to becoming a full fledged clinician in their own right.
Giving back to the community with our discount rate services
Secondly, the Nurture program allows us to also give back to the community, by giving us the opportunity to offer our services at a discounted rate. Therapy can be a very resource intensive endeavour, not just in terms of time committed, but financially as well. Whilst supervision allows us to impart some of our experience and knowledge onto our interns, actual practice is what forges a good therapist.
