We Treasure Every Part That Makes Everything Happen.
From accounting to marketing departments, legal to Human Resource divisions, these various components form the parts that make up the overall whole of an organisations. And if we liken these components to the hands and feet of a company, undoubtedly, the people would then be the lifeblood on which the company lives on. Without them, the company would cease to exist.
Why EAP
We’re only as strong as the weakest link
The importance of the individual in any organisation has always been at the forefront of employee benefits. Whilst traditional perks such as medical insurance and paid time off have become mainstays in any organisations’ arsenal to care for their people, the need to safeguard one’s mental and emotional health is getting insistent.
From dealing with our everyday stressors, to big ticket items like getting married, or being transferred to a new country, there’s a greater awareness that one’s mental health can significantly impact the lives that we lead, which would then affect our ability to engage with our responsibilities, both at home and at work. And given that we spend so much of our waking time at work, it would be intuitive then that the best engagement be done there.
Benefits Of EAP
A natural evolution to the employee benefits
Employee Assistance Programs represents a natural evolution to the employee benefits that aim to support the people in an organisation. Here at The Mind, we offer a plethora of services that aims to do just that, helping you take care of the people that makes your organisation what it is.
Whilst the immediate benefits of an EAP program would be for the people, an organisation as whole would also stand to experience some improvements such as:
- Improved work-life integration
- Talent retention
- Reduction in absenteeism and absenteeism
- Increased workplace resilience
- Avenues to address and manage disciplinary issues
- Enhancing practical and soft skills
Services We Provide
24/7 Crisis Hotline
- A 24 hours a day, 7 days a week crisis hotline that provides callers with access to a mental health professional at any time of the day
- The primary aim for these calls is deescalation, whereby we work with the callers to try and help them deescalate the emotional distress they’re going through
- Once that’s been achieved, then a decision will be made as to whether or not the case has been resolved, or if a referral to further therapy would be required for deeper work
- Examples when a crisis hotline call would be beneficial would be an employee who has just gone through a bad break up, someone reacting badly to a performance appraisal, or someone who’s recently lost someone
Psychotherapy
- There will be times when we face stressors that may need a helping hand in order for us to overcome them. Therapy can be a good way to do just that in many situations
- By providing employees with a non-judgemental and safe space to speak about their concerns, therapy can help individuals understand the root cause of their difficulties, and work with them to find ways to overcome them
- Some examples when psychotherapy might be helpful would be for individuals with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, excessive stress, and sleeping difficulties
Workshops & Training Programs
- Workshops and training programs can be an excellent way to pre-emptively manage struggles that employees face. Known stressors or challenges can be addressed in these workshops, ensuring that we’re able to equip team members with the necessary skills and know-how to tackle the task and duties they have
- By addressing issues on a group level (eg. Stress management, communication issues, parenting skills), group workshops allow us to address difficulties on a company wide level
Crisis Management
- Accidents and unfortunate events can and will happen. And when they do, two things would be fundamental in ensuring that we’re able to manage these critical incidences well. The first would be prior preparation, and the second would be reaction
- The Crisis Management module of our EAP focusses on the latter. When negative events occur, the primary function of the Crisis Management module focusses on helping the people involved to process the event that has occurred, with the ultimate goal of helping them return to normal levels of functioning
- Typically Crisis Management would include both group interventions, as well as targeted individual sessions as per when required.
