From a young age, I possessed a deep understanding of others' emotions and the ability to listen emphatically. During my schooling years, many of my high school classmates had limited exposure to therapy or counseling. However, some of them faced relationship issues and family conflicts. Consequently, I became someone they confided in, as I could provide them with emotional support. These early personal experiences helped me develop strong listening skills and a profound sense of empathy toward the struggles of others.
This innate ability and experience led me to pursue a degree in psychology and to apply for a part-time teaching position to gain direct experience working with people. My teaching experience exposed me to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and age ranges. Furthermore, I had the privilege of providing psychotherapy and conducting psychological assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and refugees during my internships at Mentem Psychological Services and HumanKind. I am also certified in Psychological First Aid (PFA) and have experience providing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services.
My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), although I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques when appropriate to better support my clients' needs. I firmly believe that these evidence-based approaches offer a well-rounded framework for fostering personal growth and enhancing the well-being of my clients.
Currently, I serve as a Resiliency Coach under the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for The Mind’s corporate clients. I conduct individual and group sessions, as well as training, with a primary focus on building resilience to cope with personal and workplace challenges.
I am deeply passionate about advocating for mental health and actively working to break the stigma surrounding it within the community. I believe that open conversations about mental well-being are essential in creating a more compassionate and understanding environment where individuals feel empowered to seek help without fear of judgment. My goal is to ensure that mental health is treated with the same importance and respect as physical health, so that everyone feels supported in their journey toward healing and self-care.
