One of the biggest factors to becoming an effective and competent mental health practitioner is supervision. Supervision helps shape us, by ironing out the kinks that we have, and sharpening our skills.
With that in mind (no pun intended), we look to open our doors and give a little of what we got, back to the next generation of mental health practitioners. And with Nurture @ The Mind, we look to do just that through supervision as well as community-based services.
Each year, we open up our doors to a few select students to come work with us at The Mind. With supervisors with at least 5 years of clinical experience under our belts, we look to work with our interns to bring out the very best in them.
Therapy can be a very resource intensive endeavour, not just in terms of time committed, but financially as well. Whilst supervision allows us to impart some of our experience and knowledge onto our interns, actual practice is what forges a good therapist.
With that in mind, we look to open our doors to the community, to provide quality mental health care at significantly reduce rates via our interns. All of our interns will be closely supervised to ensure that you’ll be receiving top notch care, so in effect, you’ll be getting two therapists for the price of one!
Good mental health isn’t only reactive to the development of an illness (treatment for disorders), but a proactive approach as well. With that in mind, the community workshops run by our interns look to address various issues and concerns that the community may face.
We look to do our small part in helping impart our knowledge with the community at large. For more information, please visit our page on FaceBook, and bookmark our events page on our website for more information.
