Life’s challenges come in different shapes and sizes. Some may be easy to deal with, whereas others, as I have learnt, can get overwhelming. My early teenage years were rough. I was trapped in a cycle of sadness and anger, which I found impossible to break away from, and it was only through the support of my friends and family that I was able to break through. It was hard, but this experience helped shed light on the issue of mental health for me and its importance.
It then sparked my interests in the field of psychology at the age of 16 and it has been that way ever since. It was intuitive then for me to pursue this career path of mine, beginning with a Bachelors in Psychology (Honors) obtained in 2021, followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology, both from Taylor's University in 2024.
I utilize Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as my main therapeutic approach, as I was trained and supervised under that modality. During the span of my training, I had the opportunity to work with clients ranging from students, parents, children, working adults, cancer patients, refugees and individuals struggling with neurodevelopmental disorders such as those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, as well as other mental health disorders and concerns including OCD, Bipolar II Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety and suicidal ideation.
My training required helping these individuals manage a myriad of different struggles and psychological difficulties. I have seen the positive effects that can happen through talking it out with someone, be it as a therapist, or a friend. It is something that I think can benefit many of us. As a Clinical Psychologist, I believe in the power of inclusivity when providing mental health services and how important it is to provide a safe space for everyone in need. I look to leverage my expertise and skills to help you uncover the root of your struggles as well as identify any challenges that you face. Together, we will work towards overcoming these obstacles and getting you back on your feet, empowering you to lead a fulfilling life.
