Since young, my interest has always been in understanding the complexities of human personality. My passion grew considerably stronger as I started to pursue a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) in HELP University.
The opportunities that I had in attending counseling sessions during my degree not only allowed me to have a clearer idea about the counselling process, but also to enjoy the first-hand experience of being a client. The warmth and non-judgmental atmosphere had helped me embrace my vulnerabilities, as well as to find a sense of purpose and meaning in life. These valuable experiences, combined with conversations with professionals in the field further solidified my decision to become a therapist, thus leading me down the intuitive route to pursue my Masters in Counselling from HELP University.
In 3 years of training, I developed my skills working with clients from CAREERsense, Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) as well as at HELP University, with concerns ranging from emotions, relationships, career to coping skills. In addition, I also conducted various workshops such as stress management, leadership skills and career development for the public, as well as participated in offering career guidance during Star Education Fair and university’s open day.
Currently, I am working with The Mind to service their corporate partners. I conduct individual coaching session, facilitate group and training sessions on various topics including resiliency building and personal exploration in workplace setting. Being a therapist, I provide safe space for my clients to feel listened to, empower those who are undergoing difficult times and psycho-educate them about the importance of taking good care of their mental well-being.
Therapy is a journey where the client and therapist work together to uncover underlying issues that may be barriers and work toward defined goals. I believe everyone is worthy and pose unique strengths within their inner selves. I am looking forward to meet you where you are and assist you in getting to where you desire to be.
“I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story.”
