As a young child I was always on the go, constantly asking “Are we there yet?” or “is the food here already?”. Patience was never my forte, and in order to stop me from questioning further, my father created an activity where he would ask me to observe other people around us, and he would then quiz me on what I saw. It was where the initial seeds of my interest in humans were planted, leading me to aDdegree in Psychology from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).
In my undergraduate days, my interest in the field flourished. I found myself leaning towards subjects like Abnormal Psychology and Physiology, which intuitively drove a passion for working with clinical populations. From there, it was a natural progression to pursue a Masters in Clinical Psychology with Universiti Sains Malaysia – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (USM-UPSI).
During the 2 years of training, I had the privilege to practice in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), working with clients living with mental healthdisorders and developmental delays. Besides that, I have also actively participated in organization of mental health awareness events and stress management workshops for the USM staff and students. During the first wave of COVID-19, I was also a part of the USM Psychological First Aid hotline initiative where I provide psychosocial support via the hotline.
At present, I work with Corporate Partners who have partnered with The Mind. I conduct 1-to-1 coaching, group and training sessions focusing on a variety of topics on building resiliency. During the individual coaching sessions, I do psychoeducation on mental health & well-being and also provide a safe space for those who are going through a hard time.
I look forward to working with you, journeying through some of your hardest moments, and celebrating the successes you have along the way.
