Life challenges come in all shapes and forms, and can sometimes feel very lonesome! Making a safe space where you can take a (maybe nervous yet courageous) step forward to express yourself and gain support through these times is important to me. Together, we will explore both the good and the bad, your pains, worries, and build upon your own strength - free of judgement but with a spirit of curiosity.
My passion in mental health developed through witnessing the impact of home-life on children in class, whilst I was working at a private school for two years. These, combined with my witness of my own schoolmates struggling, working with an NGO that advocated for children, women and refuses as well as my own experiences pointed me towards a career in the helping profession.
I pursued a Bachelor in Psychology (Honours), where my internship in an Early Intervention Programme (EIP) provided me a gateway into neurodevelopmental disorders. I later completed a Master of Clinical Psychology through my clinical training at HEART Psychological Services Taylor’s University, Mentem Psychological Services, A.C.T.S (Arrupe) Refugee Clinic, The Mind Hub (MMHA), and Pusat Pakar Psikologi JiwaDamai.
These experiences cemented by passion to help clients with with a range of struggles, from depression, anxiety, trauma-related issues, relationship issues and stress. I have had the warmest pleasure to work with adults across a myriad of age groups, ethnicity, gender and nationality (local and refugees). Additionally, with children/teens with ADHD, problem behaviours, selective mutism and gender-related concerns.
Cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) is my main approach, while incorporating various techniques from other modalities such as Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT), according to the client’s struggles.
I look forward to working with you, providing you with a space and empowering your voice for you to discover yourself, heal and grow confidence in overcoming difficulties that feel impossible, both at home and work. Or maybe even to find renewed perspective and meaning in life - but most of all, to create deep compassion and trust within yourself so you can regain balance.
