DOPE
Imagine you're going on a holiday with your tribe. Almost automatically, all of you revert to your natural roles you play within your group. Some of you maybe the planners, whilst some would take the lead role in coralling the group to action. If you're a numbers guy, then you'll probably be handling the accounts for the trip, or maybe you're the designated driver. Or perhaps you're the one that always gets lost or the one who can never make it on time, maybe even the one that always up to try some new exotic food no one would even dare take a sniff at.
It's always fascinating how we all revert to our usual roles, and in most cases, we all do so because of the personality traits that we have. Given how significant an impact our personalities can play in determining our lives, generations of psychologists have tried to put a finger on these personality traits to help us better understand our make up, and more importantly figure out what makes us tick.
But we have some bad news, and some good. The bad news is that because personality can be so ephemeral, we've never really succeeded in doing so. We do have good theories and ideas on how to classify personality traits, but we've never been able to agree upon a universal descriptors.
The good news though, is that we have a bunch of pretty fun personality tests we can try! From what Harry Potter character you are, to which Bridgerton character you're most likely to end up with (depending on when you read this, this may be sorely dated), or perhaps the musician who would most likely serenade you at your wedding, we have an unending (and ever growing) library of personality tests that can be done for fun!
But that's the keyword here, "for fun". These tests are an entertaining way to provide you with an overarching label for your personality, and should not be taken as definitive or prescriptive in anyway. If you're keen for a formal assessment, do contact a clinical psychologist to set something up.
What we have here is a fun one you can try, the DOPE test! Give this test a go to find out which Avian (ie. bird) type you are! Just remember whilst this is for recreational purposes, it can still tell you some good things about yourself!
